Dubai Wedding Bouquets: A One of a Kind Silk Heirloom, Made Only for You
For a Dubai wedding, the bouquet is carried through the day, a long celebration and a great many photographs. A luxury bridal bouquet in hand-cut silk, genuine pearls and crystal keeps its shape through all of it, and stays long after. At Marie Livet, each silk bridal bouquet for a Dubai or UAE wedding is a one of a kind commission, designed for one bride and made only for her, by hand, in the Washington State studio. The pieces on this page were each created for a bride in the UAE.

One of a kind, made only for you
Some bouquets are chosen ready-made, the exact same design offered to every bride who walks in. A Marie Livet commission begins somewhere else entirely: with you, your gown, your palette and the story of your day. Inspiration images are always welcome, and from them a piece is designed that belongs to one bride alone.
Each piece is hand formed like brush strokes on a painting, petal by petal, as seen through the eyes of an artist.
Because every petal is shaped by hand, each piece has its own nature. Something similar can be made, but never the exact same piece twice. That is what makes it an heirloom rather than an accessory: it is yours, and there is no other like it.
Shaped with Victorian-era tools exclusive to the studio
Every petal and leaf is hand-cut and pressed with Victorian-era tools exclusive to the studio. The silk is hand-dyed and hand painted for subtle variance in color, the way petals vary in nature. Pearl flowers are wired by hand with real pearls, and the exclusive metal leaves are created using the antique Victorian-era molds.
It is slow, patient work, and it is the reason no two pieces are alike. You can see more of the tools and the process on The Making.

Precious materials for a luxury bridal bouquet
An heirloom is only as lasting as what it is made from. That is why fine materials sit at the heart of every commission: genuine gemstones, Swarovski crystal and real freshwater pearls, alongside the precious metals of sterling silver and gold if the bride desires.
Gemstones. Crystal quartz, white topaz, champagne topaz and amethyst are among the stones the studio has set into its bouquets, each wired by hand so it catches the light from every angle.
Swarovski crystal. Crystal adds a quiet sparkle that moves with the bouquet, from the first look to the last photograph.
Real pearls. Freshwater pearls, chosen for their luster and naturally varied in size and shape, are wired by hand into clusters, centers and pearl flowers, often beside carved mother of pearl.
Sterling silver and gold. Solid sterling silver leaves and flowers, sealed against tarnish, and leaves in gold vermeil or gold leaf can be woven through a design. The metal leaves are created using the antique Victorian-era molds.
Something Blue, created for a bride in Dubai, brings several of these together: solid sterling silver leaves, freshwater pearls, carved mother of pearl, crystal quartz, white topaz and Swarovski crystal. Materials like these are what let a bouquet be kept, displayed and handed down, and chosen together for one bride, they make a piece that is truly one of a kind.

An heirloom long after the wedding
After the celebration, the bouquet comes home with you. Kept out of direct sunlight and away from moisture, and displayed upright, ideally in a vase, it can be kept for a lifetime and handed down. Our post on how long a silk and pearl bridal bouquet lasts covers the simple care in more detail.
